Truffle Hunt

Searching for the elusive truffle. I will show you what a truffle woodland looks like where to look and what tale tale signs to look out for; I will introduce you to truffle ecology and focus on it’s woodland community. I will endeavour to show you truffles, truffle mycelium, truffle flies and how to use them to hunt; I will show you truffle beetles, considered a truffle pest, animals truffle feeding platforms and signs of our wonderful animal competitors at work; I will teach you how to harvest sustainably and with respect to the community of invertebrates and all that depend on truffle within the food chain and the future generations of trees.

We will be returning dried truffle to the wild using truffle trimmings not fit for consumption from the kitchen after truffle prep and cleaning. We are constantly loosing woodland habitat as a result of land reclamation/overpopulation/industry and farming; I feel it is my obligation to spread the truffle love for the next generation of trees, their communities and others to enjoy as much as I do.

Delicious fresh soup and bread will be served for lunch with truffle of course - along other wild samples for you to taste. Please state any dietary requirements.
